Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lichess Bot Controller software, the companion Telegram support bot, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By purchasing, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract under applicable law. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Account & License
- Access to the Service requires a valid, active license key purchased via the support Telegram bot through DonationAlerts.
- Your license is personal, non-transferable, and bound to one machine at a time.
- You are responsible for keeping your license key confidential. Key sharing will result in revocation of all copies.
3. Acceptable Use
You MUST:
- Use the Service only on a Lichess BOT account (accounts upgraded via
/api/bot/account/upgrade). - Comply with lichess.org's Terms of Service and API policies.
- Ensure the Lichess API token you provide has the "Bot: Play games" scope and no more.
- Follow applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
You MUST NOT:
- Use the Service on a regular (human) Lichess account. This constitutes cheating under Lichess's rules and is strictly prohibited.
- Use the Service to harass other users, spam, manipulate ratings of third parties, or otherwise disrupt the Lichess community.
- Reverse-engineer, tamper with, or attempt to bypass license protection.
- Attempt to overwhelm Lichess servers through unusual challenge patterns.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service.
Violation of this section results in immediate, permanent license revocation without refund.
4. No Affiliation with Lichess
The Service is an independent product. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with lichess.org. The word "Lichess" is used only to describe interoperability. Lichess is a trademark of its respective owners.
Your Lichess account, its status, and any bans imposed by Lichess are entirely your responsibility.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
- Payments are processed by DonationAlerts as voluntary donations corresponding to a chosen subscription tier.
- There is no automatic renewal. When your subscription expires, the Service will no longer start games until you renew.
- Available tiers: 1 day, 7 days, monthly, 3 months, yearly. Prices are displayed in the Telegram bot and may change without notice for new purchases (existing active subscriptions are unaffected).
- The support bot will notify you 24 hours and 3 hours before expiry.
6. Refunds
See EULA Section 9 and the separate Refund Policy. In short: 7-day window for good-faith refund requests; non-refundable after substantial use.
7. Availability & Support
- The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee 100% uptime of the Telegram support bot or the Lichess API.
- Major Lichess API changes may temporarily or permanently break features. We will make reasonable effort to restore functionality in an update.
- Support is provided through the Telegram bot during the Developer's waking hours. Response times vary.
8. Updates
The Service may notify you of new versions. You are encouraged to install updates promptly, especially security updates. Using an outdated version may result in reduced functionality, license-check failures, or incompatibility with the latest Lichess API.
9. Termination by User
You may stop using the Service at any time. Uninstalling removes the Service from your device. Active subscription time already paid for is not refundable upon voluntary termination except as described in Section 6.
10. Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if:
- You violate any provision of these Terms or the EULA.
- Your payment is charged back, reversed, or disputed after key issuance.
- You engage in abusive or fraudulent behavior toward the Service, the Developer, or other users.
11. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. See EULA Sections 6 and 7 for details. In no event shall the Developer's total liability exceed the amount you paid for the current subscription period.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the Developer harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, including violations of Lichess ToS or applicable law.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via the Telegram bot. Continued use constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept updated Terms, stop using the Service.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in full effect.
